AUGUST 8

Last day of day camps for the summer :(
Jen and Katie did a skit. Jen was Katie's arms, and Katie ended up with ice cream all over her.

AUGUST 7

Some of my campers and our two volunteers (counselors in training) for the week.

AUGUST 6

TEAM OZ
before...
SKITTLE SKATTLE BATTLE

AUGUST 5

Some of the day camp girls went to the Yum Yum Tree in downtown Brighton. I had a blondie with java chip ice cream, and it was the best dessert I've ever had.
After ice cream, we walked around and explored downtown Brighton for a little while.

AUGUST 4

WEEK 8 (the final week of camp)
Here are some of my campers with tie-dye on their hands!

AUGUST 3

I walked into my room today, and after being in there for a couple of minutes, I noticed that my cat was in my bed. She had buried herself in my comforter. It was so cute!

AUGUST 2

I went shopping with my mom today.
There is this sculpture outside of Michael's, and I've always wanted to take a picture of someone standing behind it, so I finally did.

AUGUST 1

I went to the StoBro / CoCo closing day, and then I drove home from camp.

JULY 31

I had Junior Explorers this week (which means campers who want the overnight experience, but aren't ready to stay for an entire week yet), so they left on Wednesday, and I stayed to hang out around camp for the rest of the week.
On Thursday, my friend Dave who works High Adventure took Ashley, Patti, and me on the Copper Country zip line. It was so much fun! (Thanks again, Dave!)

JULY 30

RAFIKI! (our cabin name)
Group picture on the last day of camp :(

JULY 29

WILD AND WACKY DAY!
This was on our way to play Infiltration!

JULY 28

Two of Chelsey and Ashley's campers.
I think this picture looks like it could be in a SpringHill brochure, but to be honest, I didn't even take it. Jessica, a 9-year-old camper, took it. She spent a lot of time getting in the right position and trying to get the lighting just right. She has a lot of talent!

JULY 27

TWO OF MY CAMPERS! :)
(Julia and Jessica)

JULY 26

Chelsey and I went up to the overnight camp to work for the week! There was NO ONE there when we arrived, so we had no idea what to do. We finally found some people in the StoBro staff lounge. That was an interesting experience haha We went to Subway for dinner, and then we went to the dollar store. After that, we walked around a little bit and then hung out in the treehouses (our cabin).

JULY 25

Jamie's surprise going away party!
It was so fun to get dressed up and hang out at the beach in Monroe. Also, my guy friends are so much fun.

JULY 24

TEAM (I don't remember)!!!
We are ready for the skittle skattle battle.
I also have a sweet picture of Rachel and Me with sweet face paint, but I thought our team picture was a little bit better choice.

JULY 23

I watched TV with my mom, and Clare (my cat) hung out with us, too.

JULY 22

My small group for the week!
I know I say this a lot, but these kids really were a lot of fun. All of these kids were SO mature, too! (They were my oldest campers all summer). They asked so many deep questions, and we had a lot of awesome discussions during RAP.

JULY 21

I made my cat a new catnip pillow. She LOVED it. She tends to choose that catnip pillow over the store-bought ones, too. That makes me happy.

JULY 20

NO PICTURE ONCE AGAIN.

JULY 19

Late night hangout with Casey :D

JULY 18

ICE CREAM SOCIAL! This is one of my favorite parts of the week because kids look so cute with ice cream mustaches. Also, look at Carly's face (the little girl in the bottom right) ahahah

JULY 17

ERIK'S BIRTHDAY!!!
Erik was my co-counselor this week, and he was great. He turned 19 today, so during the birthday rap, it was decided that Erik had never had "19 squirts of light and fluffy from SpringHill staff before!" So all of the staff got to light and fluffy Erik.

JULY 16

TEAM TARZAN!!!

This is our team all decked out with face paint before the SKITTLE SKATTLE BATTLE!!!
It took me a very long time to get this picture uploaded for a couple of reasons.
First, I accidentally deleted half of the pictures from this week from my camera before they were loaded on my computer. So, my dad ended up buying this program for me so that I could restore my pictures.
Second, once the pictures were restored, many were not put back together correctly. The bottom half of this one was chopped in half, and those two halves were switched around. I had to go in and edit the picture. I had to crop it many times and move the different parts around.
But it's here, and that's all that matters!

JULY 15

Erik and a couple of our campers, Donovan and Megan. Here they are making leather crafts :)

JULY 14

Week 5
This was probably one of my favorite weeks of the entire summer. I had an awesome co-counselor who did really well with our kids, and our campers were just amazing!
My campers this week absolutely LOVED the tie-dye! They all went home with really dark, dyed hands. A few of them even had tie-dye on their faces ahha

JULY 13

After a little bit of fighting, my parents and I drove to Grand Haven for the day to hang out at the beach. I have a really cute Polaroid picture of my parents on the beach, but I think this one looks awesome, so I'm just going to use this one.
(This is another one of those cases where I had a really hard time deciding which picture to use).

JULY 12

I went to Beans' graduation party and met up with Megan, her family, and Tom. Kiley and Lauren Medley were there, too!
We then went to Lauren Olson's graduation party, and Tom knew Lauren's cousin. CRAZY!
Later that night, I went to Lauren's for a bonfire with her family and their friends. We ate way too many snacks, had homemade strawberry shortcakes (that were the best I've ever had!), we played with sparklers, and got upset with Tim (like usual). Then we rented Be Kind Rewind and watched that with Nate.

JULY 11

Seriously, these boys were so cute and so much fun!

JULY 10

SERIOUSLY, WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PICTURES?!

JULY 9

BEACH DAY!
Here are a couple of my campers and a girl from another group. Rachel (middle) and Sarah (right) were two of the cutest girls I had all summer. Sarah is the girl who lives across the street from Lauren.

JULY 8

Some of my campers! Justin, Isaac, and Andrew. These boys are all best friends, and they were so fun to hang out with this week!
Also, we won Dexter today!

JULY 7

I went to see Wall-E with Sarah. It was actually a really cute movie, and it had huge political messages in it.

After the movie, Sarah and I went to Zack's and talked for a really long time. Oh man do I love that girl.

JULY 6

HEATHER WAS IN TOWN!
Natalie had her prayer breakfast thing at church so that all of the families of the students going to Australia / New Zealand for World Youth Day could pray for the trip. Heather just happened to be visiting from Colorado that weekend, so we got to see her, too!

JULY 5

I played the Barbie Prom board game with my mom and sister. This was a nice night because I love hanging out with my mom and sister and I don't get to spend a lot of time with either of them.

JULY 4

FOURTH OF JULY!!!
I had a big decision to make today. Would I rather go to Detroit to see Broken Social Scene for FREE OR spend time with my family at my grandma's?
I ended up going to my grandma's, and I had a REALLY good time!
I figured out this function on my camera that captures fireworks really well. This is Natalie and me playing with sparklers while a fountain is going off in the background.

JULY 3

I went to Lauren's to hang out. We went to McClumpha park to watch the Plymouth fireworks. Lauren didn't want her picture taken. Tonight I got to meet a little girl named Sarah who is going to be a camper next week! (She lives across the street from Lauren).

JULY 2

For today's picture, I had to choose between this one and a really funny one of Sarah Felosak dancing. I have had to choose between a lot of good pictures many days this year.
Today I went to Ann Arbor with Natalie, and it seemed like she actually had a good time! (She has never really enjoyed herself when I take her to downtown Ann Arbor with me). We went out to lunch and ate at this little diner, but we got to eat outside which was really cool. Then we looked at some record shops for a CD. I didn't find the one I was looking for, but I did end up getting the new Sigur Ros CD.
Later that night I went to Sarah Felosak's for a day camp reunion. We played laser tag and some game that I don't remember the name of. We had a dance party and just sat around and talked for a while. I loved the people I worked with this summer so so so much.

JULY 1

WHY ARE SO MANY PICTURES MISSING FROM MY COMPUTER?!

JUNE 30

THIS PICTURE IS ALSO MISSING.

I WILL UPLOAD IT ASAP.

JUNE 29

I went to the Spree to watch the fireworks with Lauren and Sarah. Casey ended up being there, too, so he came over and sat with us for a while. It's always so nice to see my friends from home after I've been away from them for a while.

JUNE 28

We drove to camp from Indiana the night before, and I drove home from camp today. It was nice to see my family again.

JUNE 27

Team Robin Hood hadn't won Dexter all week, and our campers tried so hard to win him. Our campers picked up everyone else's trash at lunch, they were great at cheering each other on during every activity, and they brought great cheers to large group every day. They were just too quiet when it was our turn to cheer each morning. So, Kate and I talked to Jess, and we had the carnival rigged so that our campers would win. Because our team won, Kate and I (the counselors) got pied in the face.

JUNE 26

Our host family :) (minus Amanda)
This is Phyllis and her grandson, Chris. Chris was in love with me. He made presents for me everyday. It was adorable. Chris also loved to play basketball. He was also a camper one of the weeks we were in Indiana. That was fun!
Phyllis was one of the most interesting older women that I have ever met. She has been all over the world and has eaten in palaces in different countries (such as England and Russia) and has stayed in really classy hotels on the Mediterranean in France. Her husband was the spokesperon for GM or Chrysler (I don't remember). So she got to travel a lot. The best part about all of this was that she said her favorite hobby was creating and leading Bible studies. This woman has traveled around the world, but her favorite thing to do is READ THE BIBLE. How awesome is that?! Phyllis was great.

JUNE 25

TEAM ROBIN HOOD!
I love that Kate and I are the only ones smiling. All of our campers are making goofy faces.

JUNE 24

Here are some of my campers from this week. My favorite part is Sam in the background ahahah

JUNE 23

MAX! This is honestly the most mature camper I had all summer. He had sooo much knowledge about everything. Here he is with the grasshopper he caught. (Sam is in the background).

JUNE 22

I hadn't taken any pictures all day, so I snapped this picture of the view of the sunset out of my bedroom window in our host home.
I also got to talk to Maria on the phone for a while today. It was so nice to get to talk to her!

JUNE 21

Our team got to hang out in downtown Indianapolis for the day. We even got to go to an Indiapolis Indians game. Sarah Felosak went home for her sister's graduation party, so we brought a picture of her with us.

JUNE 20

Here is Team Tarzan again!

JUNE 19

Here are some of my campers, Evelyn and Sara. We painted picture frames today.

JUNE 18

We got to have a pool party at a family's house. Their house was HUGE and super nice, and it was so incredibly nice of them to invite our entire staff over for the night. They fed us, let us swim in their pool, hang out in their nice basement that had a pool table, ping pong, a piano, and video games, and play tennis on the tennis court in their backyard.

JUNE 17

TEAM TARZAN! WOO!
And yes, that is Dexter the Spirit Monkey you see around Drew's neck. This is the pyramid cheer that won us Dexter today.

JUNE 16

We got to play with a parachute with our campers today! The kids had fun at first, but it ended up being a disaster because our kids wanted to trap each other underneath and then run around on top. Most of our kids were crying and yelling at each other. This was a rough week because we had a lot of campers that were really hard to deal with.
